The East Pikeland Planning Commission elected to ponder our EcoVillage Ordinance one more time. They want to know about our traffic and our effect on the school system, so we will be showing them our impacts compared with a project that could be built on our land using their current Zoning. We will be asking for bonuses for having more open space, less impervious paving, following LEED Site guidelines, and reducing parking, among other things. We are hoping they will recommend approval of the Ordinance to the Supervisors.
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT AT THIS MEETING. We want the Planning Commission and the Supervisors to know that there are many in the Kimberton area who would like to see an energy-efficient development that honors the land and offers clustered affordable down-sized homes to people who manage the site - not a typical car-oriented old style suburban project. Kimberton should be proud to host a vibrant environmentally-friendly model community that will help enliven businesses and cultural activities in town, and foster Walkable Kimberton!
